About me
Throughout life, most people will experience turmoil and emotional pain. Some may be able to overcome such challenges with the support of family and friends. Others are significantly affected and are thus unable to live life optimally. As a therapist, I am very passionate about helping people in dealing with and overcoming tribulations with the aim of improving their quality of life.
I use a collaborative approach, catering to each client’s needs. I recognize that each person is unique; no two people are alike. In striving to bring out the best in each person, I provide support, compassion, empathy, and alternate insights into their lives.
Many people come to therapy when they have hit rock bottom. They must be given the guidance and assistance to help them cope with the trauma, feelings of inadequacy, marital conflict, parenting issue, depression and anxiety. I am trained in many modalities including Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing, Internal Family Systems, Somatic Experiencing, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Gottman Method Training, Emotional Focused Therapy, Sand Tray Therapy and Theraplay.
Although it is crucial to keep up to date with newest modalities, I find what is most effective is the therapeutic alliance between the client and clinician. Although I am a mental health professional, I follow the modus operandi that each person is the real professional of themselves. I look at my work as a partnership with each individual who walks through my door.
